A colourful A1-sized poster ‘Get to Know Birds of Latvia IV’, featuring species of shorebirds and waders – plovers, gulls and sandpipers – found in Latvia, with illustrations and the Latvian and Latin names for each species.

Around 380 species of birds are known in Latvia; however, only two-thirds of this total regularly nest, overwinter or pass through here. The rest happen to stray here by chance during their migration or foraging. The publication *Get to Know Birds of Latvia* looks at local birds, including rare species that are not seen every year. Extensive, open coastlines, often bordered by meadows, as well as the sandy shores of the sea and the Gulf of Riga, are the main locations where the shorebirds and waders featured in this publication can be observed: including terns and gulls. All species are depicted in their summer plumage; for many birds seen on the coast, the winter plumage is noticeably paler.
