The proper way to remove a tick is to use a specially designed stainless steel tick removal device. For this use we have the travelsafe tickpicker in our collection.
The advantage of stainless steel is that the device is easy to sterilize.
The end of the device narrows into a point so that even young ticks (nymphs) can easily be removed.
